PRUNING

We believe the best pruning is the least amount of pruning. Our team specializes in accessing big trees in tight, urban places, but we also provide pruning services on ornamental shrubs and woody perennials.

Mature trees make our urban environments more livable by improving air quality, cooling hot city streets, managing stormwater runoff, and providing critical habitat. With proper risk reduction, we can safely maintain canopies for years to come.

STORM DAMAGE AFTERCARE

When trees fail from wind, rain, or ice, the structural integrity of the tree changes. Our team will assess, correct, and clean up post-storm damage to ensure the health and safety of your home, your family and your tree.

TREE CANOPY ACCESS

Cats, drones, and kites all have a penchant for ending up stuck in trees. Whether you’ve lost something in the canopy or you need to access the tree for game camera or scientific surveys, we’re happy to assist.

WILDLIFE HABITAT ENHANCEMENT

Your tree does more than shade your property. Dead or alive, trees are critical parts of ecosystems and play host to dozens of species of lichen, invertebrates, and animals. Let us help you envision ways to create habitat out of your trees.

REMOVALS

We do not unnecessarily remove trees. It’s company policy. But in the event that a tree is dead, dying, invasive, or a “wrong tree, wrong place,” our expert team of climbers will carefully remove your tree, limb by limb, without damage to your property.

MEET THE TEAM

Adam Ritter is a traditionally trained climbing arborist with a decade of experience in plant healthcare. Adam started Sherwood Tree Care in 2023 with little more than a rusty F-250 and a dump trailer. The company has grown a lot since then, but one thing remains the same: his commitment to the plants he cares for and the community he serves.

Part artist, part arborist, Adam takes a low-impact, high-aesthetic approach to his work. His favorite tree is the white oak (Quercus alba). When he’s not pruning trees or shrubs for his clients, he can be found pruning trees and shrubs for fun.
